FMO/Purity Group Leader TeleClass At the end of 2004 I started leading my church's men's purity group. I had heard about Ted Roberts' book Pure Desire, bought and read it and inquired about training. I was looking for a group of FMO/purity group leaders with real life experience so I could get my questions answered. Because of my work and family commitments I was hoping to find a regularly scheduled teleclass or telephone mastermind (a group of 6 or more leaders regularly meeting on a conference line sharing insights and tips). That was not available at that time, but God is good and the Pure Desire people were gracious and referred me to an East Coast FMO leader, who has been a great help and valued friend over the last year and a half. When I first contacted him, he had already thought of the teleclass or telephone mastermind format as well, but there was no one to head up that project. That is when I volunteered to head up the project. We have done the FMO Teleclasses every month in 2006. Many men have enjoyed these gatherings and have been greatly encouraged. FMO Teleclass Schedule and Instructions Purpose: To network, share and learn information about leading FMO/Purity groups so that we may become more skilled leaders. Participants: This is for ministry leaders, group leaders and their assistants, not the general membership, and by invitation only. If you know group leaders in other ministries you think would benefit from these teleclasses, let us know at menspuritygroup@gmail.com. Structure: We have two equally popular teleclass formats: 1. We interview someone in a successful FMO/Purity ministry or group who has good information to share, then open the group for Q & A. 2. We workshop a topic that is important to FMO group leaders where every participant has an opportunity to contribute and benefit. Start Time 6:00 PM Pacific Time (9:00 PM Eastern, 8:00 PM Midwest) End Time 7:30 PM Pacific Time If you have done teleclasses or conference calls on a bridge line before, this will all look familiar and easy to do. Here are some helpful tips so we all can have a good teleclass. Pray that God will lead, guard and bless each leader, group and ministry. Call from a land line if possible. Cell phones can produce noise which is amplified on a bridge line. If you have great cell reception, you may try it. Call from a quiet place away from kids, pets or other distracting noises. Use a headset when possible, but test it out prior to joining our call. Bring paper and pen. Participate by asking questions and, when appropriate, volunteering answers. How Do You Join Us? We will be recording these teleclasses and posting the links (labeled flash arrows) so that you may pick up teleclasses you missed.
